The CBS View-IT module from Purpose Software extends the core CBS system to allow clients to view on-screen maps detailing the location of outstanding service calls and supports informed decision making when assigning individual engineers to these calls.

    One of the key strengths of the View-IT module is the flexibility available in defining how your outstanding calls are shown within the mapping software. It is possible to see all calls, for one or more engineers or for one or more areas. This flexibility is utilised by one customer who has divided their service cover region into three distinct areas, each with a dedicated call controller. Each call controller is able to use the mapping software to view only the calls within their service cover area, allowing a sensible distribution of workload.

Many existing users of this module have the mapping displayed on a large wall-mounted screen, often in the showroom, where prospective customer will inevitably notice the bright, colourful display and express interest, providing an opportunity for the copier salesperson to emphasise how investment in this technology has maximised their ability to provide unparalleled levels of service and support.

A useful feature within View-IT is the ability to create a ‘Drivetime Zone’’. By selecting a point on the map, and a number of minutes, the software will draw a zone on the map within which all points should be reached within the number of minutes specified. This is often used where an engineer has finished their last job of the day, does not have time for a fault call, but has half an hour or so of free time. Using the Drivetime zone allows you to see which of your customers could be reached within the time available for a courtesy visit.

This has the benefit of maximising output from the engineering workforce and increasing the level of service provided to your customers.
